Hiding Out In Plain Sight – Again!

smartist, art career, artist identity, Ariane of smARTist

I know, this is not the first time I’ve disappeared from my blog.

This time I’ve fallen off the blog wagon because my life has been scrambled upside down in an Alice-in-Wonderland now I’m small/now I’m tall sort of way.

The story is as old as the hills: met my Prince Charming, got engaged, had full replacement right knee surgery (and for those who aren’t up to speed on this lovely medical wonder – it takes at least 3 to 4 months to ramp up to semi-normal!), moving out of my home of decades (now rented to grad students and musicians) and into one of my youngest daughter’s home until my fiancé’s renovations on his place are finished, after which there will be a wedding and I will move again!

Right this minute I’m sitting my in “old” home office surrounded by half-packed bags and boxes (and I have to be out of here in 2 more days!) thinking – yikes, my lovely artists have no idea where I’ve gone to.

My creative career coaching practice is still breathing, only quietly, in the background while I integrate all of these changes.

Over the years, I’ve worked with and talked to artists who have had to move and figure out how to become part of their new community.

And now, here I am, doing the very same thing.

In the meantime, for those of you who want to stay on this journey with me, I’ll be re-posting some evergreen blog posts that will enliven your creative career while I figure out how to get through this darn door…oh, yes, I see that bottle that says “Drink Me” on the table.

Let’s see what happens next….

Change is in The Air

ariane of smartist_change is in the air

Yesterday I begin a New Path, a New Decade in this lovely, challenging, soul-filled life I’ve been living on planet Earth.

It was my birth-day and everything in my life is changing. I’ve recently been proposed to, and accepted. I’ve realized that, as the artist I keep tucked away in my back pocket, my heart is open to my love of writing and editing and I must, finally, carve a space for that in my personal and professional life.

My deep connection to visual artists is the doorway to my love of all creatives.

I don’t know exactly how my New Path will unfold, but I pray that you will join me as I explore and expand all that I love about mentoring creative people on their creative career path.

I am now opening  my coaching and mentoring door for visual artists, writers, musicians, dancers, performers of all stripes.
