The house was modeled after Frank Gehry’s own home in Santa Monica and has a corrugated-iron exterior, a split-level dramatic interior and beautifully reflects the artistic sensibility that Hopper embodied. Dennis Hopper was an accomplished artist and a passionate art collector and Amadea feels honored to be showing her work in his home.

Signing up for the smARTist Telesummit was one of the most savvy art career decisions I have made in a long time.  Listening to a diverse group of speakers on a variety of timely topics when it was convenient to me, was especially helpful.  I feel more focused and armed with resources to carry me forward.

I started an artist marketing group that meets monthly based on ‘I’d Rather Be in the Studio’, which helps our members face those marketing tasks we might otherwise put off! I’ve designated 2 days/week for marketing apart from studio time which I think in the long run will help me accomplish my goals.  Prior to the Telesummit I felt rather ambivalent and overwhelmed. Now having spent time visioning, planning, organizing and implementing, I think of it as a fun and challenging exercise where I get to craft the course of my art career. – Christine Herman

Since the smARTist Telesummit, I have been invited to paint the invitation design for the Pointsettia Ball in San Antonio. It is a fundraising for the Friends of Hospice charity. The painting will be in a silent auction and be made into giclees. I will sign these at one of their charity events and receive part of the profits from the giclees, as well as from another pointsettia painting also in the auction, plus 2 free tickets to the ball. Lots of lovely new friends from this. Would send an image of the final work, but it is a secret til after the ball! –Lesta Frank
